Blog 2 - Fun with Conductors, Insulators and Semiconductors in the kitchen!

With the help of conductors, insulators and semiconductors, my mom and dad were able to make a delicious, mouth-watering "Ginisang Sayote"!

Saturday, a family day.

After a week of school works and office works, every Saturday is our family day. I was tired for the whole week, as well as my sister, who went home from UPLB last night, and my mom and dad, who were very busy this week. But, we will not let our family day be surpassed with tons of work.

Our family's bond is cooking, (and eating of course). My parents were cooking "Ginisang Sayote" and Fish Fillet when this photo was taken. The "kawali" or pan as the conductor, the pot holder as the insulator, and the wooden spatula as the semiconductor.

The conductor in the photo is the pan - it allows heat from the stove to pass through the pan. It is very important so that dishes will be easily cooked (especially foods with sauce). The pot holder, which is made of thick cloth, served as the insulator. This does not allow heat to pass through so you can use it to hold the pan. (the reason why is it named as pot holder). Lastly, the wooden spatula which was the semiconductor. Semiconductor in a way that it can allow heat to pass through, and /or can't allow heat to pass through.

A yummy lunch awaits us! Yum yum yum! :D
